Reciprocal Rights
Train at any YMCA in South Australia
Your All Access membership works at every YMCA SA recreation centre across the state. That means access to pools, gyms, group fitness classes and stadium courts beyond your home centre, at no extra cost.
Heading away for a weekend? Visiting family in another part of SA? Just want to mix up your routine with a swim or a new group fitness class? Your membership has you covered.
Plan your visit
Check opening hours and the group fitness timetable on the centre's website, or switch locations in the YMCA SA app.
Scan and go
Your membership card and YMCA SA app QR code scan at any participating YMCA SA centre. You can also book group fitness classes at visiting sites through the app.
Know before you go
At a visiting site you have the same access as a casual admission. This includes gym, pool, group fitness and courts, but excludes site-specific member benefits like KidsClub, 24/7 Access and Free Child Memberships.
What you can access
When visiting a YMCA SA centre other than your home location.
The majority of your visits should be at your home location. If you're using another site more frequently, we will connect with you about transferring your membership to that site.
Only All Access memberships (including Foundation, Mates Rates and Concession), Boxing and Aqua members include reciprocal rights. If your membership type does not include reciprocal access, you can upgrade at any time in the App, in Client Portal, or with Customer Service.
Eligibility
Reciprocal rights are available to All Access members, including those on Foundation, Mates Rates and Concession All Access memberships. Members on other membership types (Gym Only, Active Adults, Active Youth, casual) are not eligible.
Definitions
- Home location: The YMCA SA recreation centre where you signed up and pay your membership fees.
- Away location: Any other participating YMCA SA recreation centre you visit using reciprocal rights.
Participating sites
All YMCA SA managed recreation centres participate in reciprocal rights. The SA Aquatic and Leisure Centre (SAALC) and Adelaide Aquatic Centre (AAC) are not YMCA SA managed sites and do not participate in reciprocal rights.
What you can access at an away location
When visiting an away location, you have the same access as a casual visitor during normal operating hours. This includes use of the gym and group fitness classes.
The following are not included when visiting an away location:
- 24/7 access
- Playclub and child minding
- Free child memberships (U10/U16)
- Any other benefit specific to that site
How to check in
Scan your membership card or the QR code in the YMCA app at the front desk when you arrive. If you need help, ask Customer Service staff.
Usage condition
The majority of your visits (more than 50%) must be at your home location over any 4-week period. Reciprocal rights are intended for occasional use at other sites, not as a replacement for your home location.
What happens if this condition is not met
If your visit history shows the majority of your visits are at an away location rather than your home location, YMCA SA may transfer your membership to the site you are predominantly using. Your membership will be moved to the closest comparable membership available at that site, which may result in a change to your membership fees. If you do not wish to transfer, YMCA SA reserves the right to cancel your membership.
